Interest rate for home loans lowers to 3.735% in March.

The data is from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), shared on Notícias ao Minuto, and indicate another decrease in the interest rate on housing credit.

The implicit interest rate on home loans recorded a new decrease in March, falling to 3.735%. This is the 14th consecutive month of decline, reflecting the trend of slowing interest rates in the real estate market.

According to INE, this reduction represents a decrease of 0.015 percentage points compared to the previous month. The continued decrease in interest rates has a direct impact on the monthly payments of housing credit contracts, potentially easing the financial burden on families.

However, the effect of this decrease varies depending on the type of contract and the frequency of interest rate review. Contracts with variable rates and more frequent reviews may benefit more quickly from this trend.

This evolution occurs in a context of adjustment of monetary policies, with the European Central Bank (ECB) maintaining a cautious stance towards inflation and economic growth in the eurozone.
