Know the current prices to rent a house in Portugal.

According to Idealista on Notícias ao Minuto, at the end of July, renting a house cost, on average, 16.3 euros per square meter. This represents an increase of 9.1% compared to the data from the same month in the previous year.

The most expensive city is Lisbon, with an increase of 8.1% to 21.7 euros/m2, followed by Porto with an increase of 12.3% to 17.4 euros/m2.

Considering that the cities where the largest increases were recorded were Coimbra, Viseu, and Faro, and the only cities where price decreases were recorded were Évora and Viana do Castelo.

According to Idealista, rental prices have increased in the North (12.6%), Center (11%), Greater Lisbon (8%), Algarve (5.1%), and Alentejo (4.3%), and stabilized in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (0.5%).

So, Greater Lisbon remains the most expensive region (19.3 euros/m2), followed by Algarve (14.4 euros/m2), Norte (14.1 euros/m2), and the Autonomous Region of Madeira (13.6 euros/m2). On the other hand, the cheapest regions to rent a house are Centro (9.3 euros/m2) and Alentejo (9.9 euros/m2).

Braga (9,2 euros/m2)

Viana do Castelo (8.1 euros/m2)

Santarém (8,0 euros/m2).

The cheapest:

Portalegre (6.0 euros/m2)

Vila Real (6.3 euros/m2)

Castelo Branco (7,1 euros/m2)

Viseu (7,4 euros/m2).
