Does IRS Jovem and public housing guarantee continue in effect after the fall of the Government?

With the fall of the government and elections scheduled for May, many people wonder about the future of measures such as the Youth IRS and the public guarantee for housing credit for young people up to 35 years old. The answer is simple: these measures remain in force.

"The entirety of the measures planned in the State Budget for 2025 remain valid, even with the caretaker Government. Only a future Executive can decide to make changes through a rectifying budget," clarifies DECO PROTeste, as cited by Notícias ao Minuto. .

In addition, "all measures already in force or that have been enacted and published in the Official Gazette follow their normal course ", the organization adds.

This means that the youth support package - which includes benefits such as the Youth IRS, the salary bonus, the exemption from IMT and stamp duty when buying a house, and the public guarantee for access to better housing credit conditions - continues to be applied.

Note that, as long as there is no new Government, the current team led by Luís Montenegro remains in current management, which means they cannot approve new measures or advance legislative initiatives.
